Back 9 Mafia
The Podcast
Two surgeons, two reps, one microphone.
Ortho, from both sides of the table.
Status
In production. Episode one hasn't been recorded yet…
The Mafia plays nine at sunrise because it's the only window any of us has. What gets said out there — about cases, about swings, about whose drive that actually was — doesn't fit in a ninety-second reel.
So we're recording it.
All four of us. Two orthopedic trauma surgeons and two ortho device reps, which means the operating room gets talked about from both sides of the table, and the golf is where the rest of it gets said.
Long enough to be worth your commute.
What we talk about
Ortho, mostly.
The Work
Technique, cases, and how the best surgeons think through a problem. Plus what's coming next — new techniques, new products, up-and-coming technologies worth watching.
The Training
Med school, residency, fellowship, the Match, boards, the OITE. What actually moves the needle — from people who just went through it and people who now run the programs.
The Life
Call, burnout, and the parts of the job nobody warns you about. How you keep a life around this work — the conversations that happen on the third hole and nowhere else.
The Golf
The round, the record, and the sunrise tee time this whole thing is built on. Haters v Mafia, the guest leaderboard, and every guest's zero-risk club and their zero-risk ortho instrument.

Who it's for
The people in the room.
Residents and fellows
Med school through boards, from people a few years ahead of you.
Orthopedic surgeons
Cases, technique, and how the best in the field think through a problem.
Ortho NPs and PAs
Clinic, first assist, post-op, and the career that comes with it.
Reps and industry
Open ground. What's coming next in ortho, before it lands.
Guests
Attendings and residents. Fellows, NPs, PAs and reps. The people running the programs and the people running the companies. If you work in ortho and you've got something worth saying about it, there's a seat — pitch us an episode.
Some guests we record with. Some play nine first — be a Mafia Guest, and the conversation usually starts itself somewhere around the third hole.
Where to find it
Wherever you already listen. Links land here the day episode one does.
